Random House Children's Books To Launch Film, TV Production Company
Monday 22 Jun 2009
Random House Children's Books and Komixx Entertainment are to create a new company, Random House Children's Screen Entertainment ('RHCSE'), to produce animated and live-action children's and family entertainment for cinema and television.
RHCSE will be a full-service production house developing and producing screen entertainment exclusively from RHCB published books and characters. Alongside the exploitation of this content, RHCSE will be building relationships with feature film, internet and digital channels, and video game producers, toy manufacturers and other merchandisers.
RHSCE will be jointly owned by Random House and Komixx Entertainment and staffed from the two organisations. Catherine Robins, MD of 2 Sides TV and minority shareholder has assisted with the creation of this new entity and will join RHCSE's management team. At RHCB the venture will be led on a day to day basis by Fiona Macmillan, Colour Publisher.
Philippa Dickinson, Managing Director of RHCB, said "I'm delighted to get this new venture off the ground. It marks a huge step forward in terms of RHCB's ability to provide our authors and licensors with the perfect platform from which we can develop properties in a truly holistic manner – with regard to traditional and evolving means of delivering content. We are delighted to be working with Komixx and Catherine Robins who bring experience, drive and financing know-how to the operation."
