Meet Nicholas: the world’s best-loved French school boy.
Nicholas is always getting himself in trouble.
Lucky for him, he has a big gang of friends to help him navigate the ins and outs of trouble-making. Whether at home, school or in town, they are permanently up to mischief.
In this award-winning, best-selling series world-wide for over 50 years, Nicholas takes great delight in sharing all his adventures and shenanigans with you.
‘From the first few lines I decided this book would be enjoyable… Nicholas comes across as humorous, energetic and loud, but kind at the same time… full of excitement and laughs’ — Elinor Smith (aged 11)
In 2011, Phaidon is relaunching the fantastic NICHOLAS CLUB, which already has more than 10,000 members world-wide, with lots of fun, games, activities, collectibles, newsletters, facebook forums and chances to meet other Nicholas fans. After all, with all the fun to be had, who wouldn’t want to be part of Nicholas’ gang?
Originally printed in French, the tales of Le Petit Nicolas were translated into 30 languages. The stories embodied French culture of the 1950s, and were universally popular with their classic charm and humour. 10 years ago, his daughter discovered an additional 80 stories, previously unpublished as books. These stories have come to make up this new series of books from Nicholas and his gang. Their comfortingly old-school portrayals of France show a bygone age, and are as popular now as they were when they were written.
