Ebury Press has acquired a book written by the First Lady of the United States, Michelle Obama, which gives a look behind the scenes of her White House kitchen garden.
Publishing director Carey Smith bought UK and Commonwealth rights in American Grown from Crown in New York. The book is being published on 31st May as a £25 hardback, and will include illustrations of the Obamas, Bo their dog, and a year in the garden.
The book gives practical advice for growing produce including herbs, salads, squashes, aubergines and summer fruits, as well as recipes for dishes such as spring pea salad, sweet potato bread, white chocolate-cherry-carrot cookies and braised pork with butternut squash.
