Every year, all over the world, literature lovers get together on Bloomsday, June 16th, to honour the great Irish writer James Joyce with readings from his novel Ulysses.
Considered by many to be the greatest novel of the 20th century, Ulysses follows Leopold Bloom on a day-long modern odyssey as he wends his way through Dublin on June 16th, 1904.
Our celebration features readings by special guests including Prof. Brian Boyd, Gordon McLauchlan, Iain Sharp, Graham Power and Maurice Cronin, plus a bit of Irish refreshment and musical cameos by mezzo-soprano Yuko Takahashi.
