Winner of the 2012 Miles Franklin Award for her debut
novel, All That I
Am, Anna Funder comes to Sydney for an exclusive event
presented by Sydney Writers' Festival.
Told through the recollections of Ruth Becker (based on a
friend of Anna’s) and the German playwright Ernst Toller, All That I Am tells
the story of friends who predicted the brutality of the Nazis and gave
everything they had to stop them.
Anna talks about the research, the writing and the precious
friendship that is at the core of this novel, the most awarded book of the
past year.
Anna Funder is the author of the international bestseller Stasiland, winner of
the 2004 Samuel Johnson Prize, published in 20 countries and translated
into 16 languages. She is the recipient of numerous awards, and a former
DAAD and Rockefeller Foundation Fellow. Anna Funder grew up in
Melbourne and Paris. She lives in New York with her husband and family.
