Some highlights to be auctioned:
Lot 909: Rare Book of Hours, Printed on vellum Illuminated Book of Hours, printed in Paris, c. 1508 The book is printed on vellum in octavo, each page having coloured borders. In addition to the device on the title-page, there is a full-page coloured illustration of the Raising of Lazarus, together with several other small illustrations. The text is in French and Latin. The binding and endpapers are later and date from c. 1700; the boards are of black morocco with blind tooling and gold tooled spine. Unfortunately, this copy has suffered from mutilation. Several pages are missing, including part of the almanac with which the book commences, while at least three illustrations, and the borders of two pages, have been cut out. However, despite its imperfections this book is a stunning example of the combined arts of the printer, metal-cut illustrator and illuminator in the early 16th century, w.a.f.€2000 – 3000
