For the
children of the family, we invite you to join our summer reading programme
Dare to Unlock The Secret?
"Dare To Unlock The
Secret" is this year's FREE Dare To Explore summer reading programme
for children aged 5-13, which runs from Monday 7 Dec 2015
– Friday 22 Jan 2016.
It’s designed to:
How does it work?
Children sign up at their
local library to receive a booklet and set a reading goal for the summer.
Booklets contain exciting challenges and activities all constructed to keep
kids reading over summer.
Challenges range from breaking
codes, making music and posting online book reviews, to sharing family recipes
and learning about the environment. Everything can be completed at home, on
holiday, at the library or online with friends. Children who complete four
challenges then get the chance to attend a party at their local library during
the last week of the programme if they wish.
Additionally there is also
a te reo Māori component - Kia Māia te Whai that supports and encourages
the use of te reo over summer.
This
concludes our programme of events for 2015. Thank you for your
support. We look forward to seeing you in 2016.
With
best wishes for the festive season.
