UBS Otago advertisement for General Manager a little worrying
Here is an excerpt from the advertisement:
We seek a General Manager who has the business experience, the energy and an innovative attitude to develop the UBS operations in a positive, viable and sustainable manner.
The UBS has a full complement of loyal and knowledgeable staff, and while book retailing experience would be an advantage for the successful applicant, it is not essential.
Bookselling experience an advantage but not essential? Who drafted this ad and what were they thinking? I suggest that bookselling experience for this key role in one of our leading bookstores should be an absolute prerequisite!
