HarperCollins
Children’s Books is delighted to announce the news that millions of children
around the globe have been waiting for – the arrival of the ninth fiction novel
from David Walliams.
In what has already been a
phenomenally successful publishing year for the UK’s biggest children’s fiction
author, his next book, The Midnight Gang, has
black-and-white line illustrations and will publish in trade paperback, priced
$24.99, before Christmas on or about the 7th November. It will be
released simultaneously in eBook and audio, with the story hilariously
performed by the author himself. The cover, illustrated by Tony Ross, is revealed
for the first time today.
With
all the hallmarks of a Walliams classic, this heart-warming, humorous tale is
set to be the publishing event of the season, making the gift of a Walliams
story a must-have for
every child this Christmas.
Since making his debut into the world of children’s
literature in 2008, David has celebrated exceptional success and growth that
has fuelled the children's book market. His global sales total over 14 million
copies and his work has been translated into 49 languages. This year alone he
has already achieved two weeks as overall industry number one and eleven weeks
at the top of the children's bestseller chart with his spring collection of
short stories The World’s Worst Children*. His previous fiction novel, Grandpa’s
Great Escape was the biggest-selling children’s book of 2015.
