LITERARY ACHIEVEMENT AWARDS

After last week's ceremony Wellington children's bookseller John McIntyre contacted me to say what a superb speech Fiona Farrell had made in accepting her award.

Courtesy of Creative New Zealand you can now hear this address, and those of the other two winners, Dick Scott and Bill Manhire. Use this link for their speeches plus author profiles and other information.

Thanks for that Bookman Beattie. I've been wanting to hear Fiona's speech ever since people started talking about it. This is a writer going from strength to strength it seems -- bravo Fiona, and well done too to Bill and Dick.
