It’s Back -
From 15 October, for 12 days Nelson, NZ will resonate to the sounds and sights of Nelson Arts Festival 09.
This year the Festival continues the festival village atmosphere in the leafy streets and heritage venues of Founders Park. There’s a whole new line up of fantastic shows as well as the old favourites such as the Port Nelson Masked Parade, Westpac Red Square, the Page and Blackmore Readers and Writers series and the rumour is true - the hit of Nelson Arts Festival 08, The Butler, will be back!
Page & Blackmore Readers & Writers
Yes - we have new sponsors and we couldn’t be more pleased. As the resident bookshop at the Festival Café in the Granary (and the best bookshop in Nelson) it’s a fab fit for Page & Blackmore to have the naming rights. And we have a fantastic line up. There is a great range from afternoon tea with that queen of the kitchen Alexa Johnston (whose second volume of social history via the cake tin is about to be published), plus another eight events that include talks from Charlotte Grimshaw,(pic left) Elizabeth Knox and Patrica Grac (pic right)e and a finale at Woollastons’ lovely vineyard for poetry with Cliff Fell and Brian Turner.
Make sure you get yourself a concession pass to the full programme of Granary Cafe talks and forums for just $60.
