‘Excuse the pencil but the ink bottle is full of flies’

Blog readers are invited to the History Group’s next public talk on Wednesday 2 September 2009
12.15pm to 1.30pm in the Te Wharenui / Te Wharepapa meeting rooms, ground floor, Radio NZ House, 155 The Terrace, Wellington, New Zealand.

‘Excuse the pencil but the ink bottle is full of flies’

Gavin McLean and Ian McGibbon edited The Penguin Book of New Zealanders at War with the assistance of Kynan Gentry. The book covers New Zealanders’ experience of warfare from the internal wars of the nineteenth century to the present. In this talk, they will reflect on that heritage and on how ordinary men and women tried to convey their feelings to loved ones through their letters, diaries or post-war memoirs.

Everyone is welcome.
