Anna Mackenzie, author of several young adult novels
including the ‘Sea-wreck Stranger’ trilogy, has been awarded a writer’s
residency in Belgium by Passa Porta, International House of Literature.
She’ll
be spending 5 weeks staying in a villa situated in the Flemish countryside 30ks
from Brussels, and will be working on a novel partially set in the region.
The
residency offers accommodation, meals, an allowance, a car and a bike. The
residency is offered to writers from all over the world – Anna is the first New
Zealand recipient.
Anna Mackenzie’s most recent book Cattra’s Legacy was
released in April and is published by Longacre, Random House NZ.

Fantastic news. I love it that she gets a bike. Every writers' residency should come so equipped!
