From friends and enemies, these
candid accounts reveal the life of Helen Clark,
and the inside story of some of the major
political developments of the last fifty years
How
to you get under the skin of a politician who is fiercely private,
professional, on the job?
In 2012-2013, documentary makers Claudia Pond Eyley and
Dan Salmon interviewed Helen Clark, her mother, father and sister, her friends,
her enemies and her colleagues for a documentary. Their interviews bring to life the tumultuous life
and times of one of New Zealand’s most important political leaders, now one of
the most powerful women in the world.
Out
of those hundreds of hours of tapes this book puts together the inside life of
Helen Clark, told by Helen and the people who know her best.
Through the
words of the actual players, sometimes raw, sometimes angry, we find ourselves
taken inside the major political developments of the last fifty years. This is
a frank, revealing account of Helen Clark and her world.
