Martina Cole, the queen of crime
fiction, is set to visit New Zealand as part of the tour to promote her latest
title Revenge ($37.99 RRP, on sale October 29, Hachette NZ).
Fans will have the opportunity
to enjoy an evening with the superstar author at the Upper Hutt Cossie Club on
Wednesday 13 November or attend an intimate dinner at Amisfield Winery &
Bistro on Thursday 14 November
The evenings will see Martina
discussing her incredible career, which encompasses 20 bestselling novels.
She’ll also talk about her
unusual rise to fame. Martina was married at 16 and divorced a year later,
became a single mother at 18 and struggled to make ends meet, bringing up her
son in a run-down council flat. At 21 she lost both her parents within six months
of each other and it was around that time she started working on what would
become her debut novel, Dangerous Lady.
A decade later that book sold
for what was, at the time, a record breaking advance. It became an instant
bestseller and Martina has gone on to enjoy immense success with over 11 million copies
of her books sold worldwide.
