As the New Zealand publishing
industry adapts to keep pace with today’s fast moving business environment,
meeting a raft of new challenges and opportunities, HarperCollins Publishers NZ
announces that it is making changes within the structure of its local and
international publishing divisions.
Local and international publishing
will now be brought under the management of the newly created position of Group
Publisher in a move designed to streamline publishing focus across the
business.
Graham Mitchell, General Manager
says ‘not only will this move align the balance of our local and international
publishing but it will also give us the opportunity to keep our publishing
structure as competitive as possible in the dynamic business environment in
which we operate.’
As a result of the re-structure two
management positions have become redundant, and Alison Brook, Head of New
Zealand Publishing, and Dawn Allan, Marketing Manager (responsible for
international publishing), will be leaving the company.
Over the last few years with
HarperCollins NZ, Alison has taken the local publishing programme in a
new and integral direction, with a change of focus to high quality non-fiction
titles. Dawn has also made an enormous
contribution to the company for almost twenty five years, having held various
positions during that time.
We thank them for their hard work
and dedication to the company and wish them all the best for their future
endeavours.
An announcement on the appointment
of the Group Publisher will be made in due course.
