New Zealand author shortlisted for David Gemmell Legend Award

Hachette New Zealand is absolutely thrilled to announce that Christchurch based author Helen Lowe has made the shortlist of the David Gemmell Legend Award for her book The Gathering of the Lost. The prestigious international Legend Award crowns the Best Novel and is the highlight of the awards ceremony.

It’s fantastic news for Helen who is the only author from the Southern hemisphere and the only woman to have made the Legend shortlist. Voting is still open for the David Gemmell Legend Award and you can place your vote here (closes 30 September 2013).

Helen Lowe lives in Christchurch, New Zealand, and writes fantasy and science fiction novels, poetry and short fiction. Helen has previously won the David Gemmell Morningstar Award in 2012 (Best Fantasy Newcomer/debut) and the Sir Julius Vogel Award in 2011 (Best Novel) for The Heir of Night. Her books are published in the US, UK, Australia and New Zealand and translated editions are published in France and The Netherlands.
