Crime writer Elmore Leonard, 87,
suffered a stroke last week and remains in hospital at an undisclosed
Detroit-area location, his longtime researcher Gregg Sutter told the
Detroit News. The stroke is not believed to be life-threatening. "He's
doing better every day, and the family is guardedly optimistic," Sutter
told the paper. "He's showing great spirit. He's a fighter, and we're glad
to see that."
