The Sargeson Trust is having another open house this
Sunday 24 March 2-4pm at Frank’s place, 14a Esmonde Road, Takapuna with Kevin Ireland speaking. He was one
of Frank’s guests in the army hut outside the door in his backyard. Says he
read Decline of the West in the long grass of Frank’s garden. This
is part of events to mark the 110th anniversary of Sargeson’s
birth.
You may have seen this already – a great short clip about
the origins of the ‘Keep Calm and Carry On’ slogan – I especially like the
miniature trains running along the tops of the book shelves in the bookshop.
