The longlist for this year's prestigious George Orwell book prize has been announced. 12 books, including the late Marie Colvin's On the Front Line, were chosen from 210 entries.
On the Front Line is a collection of journalism by the late Sunday Times journalist, and is a clear favourite to win the £3,000 prize. It was published in April last year, two months after her death in the besieged Syrian city of Homs.
The overall winner of prize will be announced in May, when the judges will be guided by Orwell's own ambition "to make political writing into an art".
