I'm
an Account Manager here at Learning Media. I manage our business relationship
with the Ministry of Education.
I'd
like to confirm that Learning Media has not suspended publication of the School
Journal. The Ministry of Education has recently set up a Master
Services Agreement for Curriculum Support Resources. Learning Media is one
of a panel of suppliers available through this Agreement. This means that
to contract services the Ministry releases Requests for Quotes (RFQs) to
the panel suppliers for the development of Curriculum Support Resources,
including the School Journal. Learning Media is currently under contract
to the Ministry of Education to complete the publishing and printing of
the latest Instructional Series for distribution to schools in 2013. A
Ready to Read is about to be printed as I write this!
For all future school journal publishing, printing and distribution, we await a RFQ from the Ministry under the panel contract. It would be best to direct your questions to the Ministry of Education if you or others have further questions about the future development of the school journal and any other curriculum resources funded by the Ministry.
Confusion
may have arisen as we are suspending our acceptance of texts from writers for
certain areas of the Instructional Series. A message is not yet up on our
website, but we will be putting appropriate messages up to alert writers as to
what we are accepting in terms of submissions.
Learning Media is always happy to share information about what we are working on under contract, and we sometimes share info about the work we
are doing on exciting resources through our Twitter account (@learningmedia).
I hope this makes things clear. It would be great if you could help others to understand the correct current situation. Please do call me if you would like to discuss anything.
