Set across a history-defining span of time, Life spins an epic and cinematic tale, stretching from 1945 Norfolk, England through to modern day Manhattan, New York.
Speaking from his home in Devon, England, Mal is delighted to share the news of his latest

“I am so thrilled to be visiting Australia and New Zealand in May and to be part of two
such outstanding and internationally regarded festivals, the Sydney Writers’ Festival and the
Auckland Writers and Readers Festival.
Australia and New Zealand are two of my favourite places in the world, and I am beyond
excited to get amongst the vibrant literary scene Down Under.”
Mal is the author of over 80 titles for adults, young adults and children, including Branford-
Boase Award-winning novel Keeper, CILIP Carnegie Award-winner Tamar, Guardian Children’s
Fiction Prize winner Exposure and The Penalty.
