The first Bethunes at Webb's sale of 2012 will
be held on Monday 20 February. The sale will be in two sessions, the first
comprising historical photography and postcards, and the second rare books and
related materials. Session one will commence at 10am. Session two will commence
at 1pm.
Highlights of the sale include rare cartes de
visite and cabinet cards by the likes of George and Elizabeth Pulman, first and
second editions of Walter Lawry Buller's A history of the birds of New Zealand, a
splendid Bird's eye
view of Auckland by George Treacy Stevens, and C
F Beautemps-Beaupre's marvellous atlas to Bruni d'Entrecasteaux's
voyage in search of La Perouse.
All lots are illustrated online.
