Former leading New Zealand publisher and bookseller, and widely experienced judge of both the Commonwealth Writers Prize and the Montana New Zealand Book Awards, talks about what he is currently reading, what impresses him and what doesn't, along with chat about the international English language book scene, and links to sites of interest to booklovers.
There is nothing more annoying to me
than being in a reading rut. I get so frustrated when, no matter how many
books I try, I just can’t get into anything. I end up listlessly looking
through my TBR pile, whining that nothing is calling out to me. I often give
up on reading and mope around in a bad mood. My friends, family, and
coworkers just love when this happens . . . So they’ve given me some book
suggestions and advice for how to get out of a reading slump.
