Above the Parapet
BWB Texts Event

Tuesday 10 November, 5:30pm
Central City Library
44-46 Lorne Street
Auckland
BWB Texts take public stances on hard issues.
Join Texts authors Tracey Barnett, Shamubeel Eaqub and Max Rashbrooke in conversation with BWB publisher Tom Rennie. What motivated them to speak out? Who’s been listening? And what is the state of debate in New Zealand?

This free event will be a lively and reflective discussion that connects the ongoing debates on asylum issues, Auckland’s housing bubble and inequalities in New Zealand.

Panellists
Tracey Barnett is a columnist and author of The Quiet War on Asylum.

Shamubeel Eaqub is an economist and author of Growing Apart: Regional Prosperity in New Zealand and, with Selena Eaqub, Generation Rent: Rethinking New Zealand’s Priorities.

Max Rashbrooke is a journalist, researcher and author of The Inequality Debate: An Introduction and Wealth and New Zealand and editor of Inequality: A New Zealand Crisis.

Chair
Tom Rennie founded the BWB Texts series and is one of the two publishers at Bridget Williams Books.
