The first Laureate for Irish Fiction will be chosen in January, serving a three-year term. Among the 34 authors nominated for the job are Anne Enright, Roddy Doyle, John Banville, Baileys Women’s Prize for Fiction winner Eimear McBride and Guardian First Book Award winner Donal Ryan.
