31 Reasons to love New Zealand Books in September

September is New Zealand Book Month and http://www.nzhistory.net.nz/ is celebrating the event with ‘30 reasons to love New Zealand books and writing’ on their book month feature at http://www.nzhistory.net.nz/culture/nz-book-month.

The Ministry for Culture and Heritage website has a bookcase full of stories and inspiration for the month at http://www.nzhistory.net.nz/culture/nz-book-month/writing-stories.

The 30 features range from stories of ‘Ponga and Puhihuia’ and ‘Hutu and Kawa’ the Pohutukawa Fairies to James K. Baxter, a history of The Listener and of course, New Zealand’s favourite Hairy Maclary – all accompanied by rich images of the era.

There is also a New Zealand Book Month quiz at http://www.nzhistory.net.nz/quiz/nz-book-month-quiz.
