Turnaround in US Bookstore Sales: June Bookstore Sales Up 3.4%

After four months of sales drops, in June bookstores sales turned around and rose 3.4%, to $1.101 billion, compared to the same period a year ago, according to preliminary estimates from the Census Bureau.
For the year to date, bookstore sales have dropped 2.8% to $7.412 billion.

Note: under Census Bureau definitions, bookstore sales are of new books and do not include "electronic home shopping, mail-order, or direct sale" or used book sales.
