travel & adventure, radicalisation and national identity, migration, globalisation,
sport and the two World Wars
The Festival presents a string of events spanning
performance, film and literature delving into themes and topics such as nature and
the environment, women in business, migration, travel and adventure,
radicalisation, national identity and the two World Wars.
Festival highlights include Peter Carey, Howard Jacobson, Kate Grenville, DBC Pierre, Ruth Padel, AC Grayling, Steve Toltz, Li Cuinxin, Dylan Horrocks, Vincent O’Sullivan, Omar Musa, Tony Birch and Melissa Lucashenko.
The
Festival will join forces with the British Museum, Royal Observatory Greenwich,
Women on Boards UK, Picturehouse Cinemas and Literary Death Match to present an
array of stellar participants and provocative conversation and performance.
The 2015 Aus & NZ Festival has been established to
bring together stories and ideas from a globally-diverse cast of both established
and emerging writers, thinkers and creators. The Festival is supported by the
governments of both countries and will explore Australian and New Zealand
culture and identity in London and beyond.

THURSDAY
28 MAY, 7pm-8.30pm
The Festival premieres on Thursday 28th May with a
blistering mix of poets, performers, musicians and writers from Australia and
New Zealand. Featuring writers Steve Toltz, Melissa Lucashenko and DBC
Pierre; Performance poet Selina Tusitala Marsh and Kiwi duo Duncan
Sarkies & Joe Blossom performing an extract from their show Demolition of the Century.
