Nicholas Reid, still wearing his
laurels from his star turn at our Dickens Bicentenary evening, leads a
celebration of the great French author Honore’ de Balzac, the “Zoologist of
Humankind”, 170 years after he penned the preface to his masterpiece The
Human Comedy. With readings by Iain Sharp.
Nicholas Reid holds degrees in
History, English and French literature. He is probably best known as a reviewer
and critic. For over thirty years he was a film reviewer in print, on radio and
on television; more recently he has been a prolific book reviewer on many
platforms, including the Sunday Star Times and his blog Reid’s Reader.
A free event, bookings highly
recommended.
