William Gass, 93, died Wednesday at his home in St. Louis, MO. He was the award-winning author of three novels, including Omensetter's Luck (1966) and Middle C (2013), three collections of short stories, a collection of novellas, and several works of nonfiction. His editor at Knopf, Victoria Wilson, said in a statement: "Bill was a master writer, thinker, inspirer and human being. His writing was important and daring."
