It is my cherished belief that crime writing — and cowboy writing and romance writing — are all writing. And that crime fiction et al — fiction. Ditto literature.

As I tweet daily about crime fiction in my Twitter-guise as NovelCrimes, I apply the same standards as I do when writing critically about any other literary subject.
