PUTTING the world to rights has never been so much fun, as Top Gear
presenter Jeremy Clarkson hops back on his podium for the latest instalment of
mega best-selling book, What Could
possibly Go Wrong?
Getting his crankshaft in a twist on all manner of subjects
from the inconvenience of gin and tonic to why clothes are no better than
ice-cream, the author jumps on the case for invading France and tells us why
Denmark is the best country on the planet.
We will get to the cars eventually, promise. En-route let us
consider spot-welding with the Duchess of Kent and the overwhelming appeal of a
nice sit-down.
Before getting into the BHP, MPG and MPH, there are far more
important things to consider; like not wasting your life using time-saving
gadgets, Prince William in a Ronald McDonald outfit, exploring outer space and
Pete Townsend’s G-string.
Armed only with conviction, curiosity and a pair of stout
trousers, Britain’s tallest presenter hurtles around the world looking for
answers without forethought or fear for his own safety.
The cantankerous petrol
head’s skill at swerving his smoking wreckages of controversy is a testament to
his near legendary status. Shocking and laugh-out-loud funny, he is a man with
tales to tell and hilarious opinions to share.
Recently voted the most watched TV show on the planet, Top
Gear can assuredly thank Clarkson’s efforts at the driving wheel. A regular
columnist for The Sun and The Sunday Times, he has sold millions of books
world-wide and is considered a national treasure, What Could Possibly Go Wrong?
Publication 26 September.
