The award is
designed to create a platform for writing by and/or about Jewish
communities, life and culture. With a cut-off age of 30, it will be the
first international Jewish writing prize specifically aimed at making a
difference in the early career of young writers.
A distinguished panel of judges will be headed by Naomi Alderman, winner of
the Orange Prize for New Writing.
The award will be made in summer 2015 and prizes will include a cash prize
of £1000, one week’s writers’ residency, and one year’s mentoring by
prize-winning novelist and writer, Naomi Alderman. Application details will
be published on the JQ and JW3 websites. Submissions open on September
14th.
Come to the launch event, at 8.15pm on Sunday 14 Sep, at JW3. Linda Grant
will join Naomi Alderman for a discussion of British Jewish writing.
