The People’s Choice award is
part of the New Zealand Post Book Awards, and it is the public’s opportunity to
vote for their favourite NZ published, NZ authored title published within the
eligible date span for the 2014 awards (1 June 2013 – 31 May 2014). Vote online,
or use the voting slips available in bookshops and libraries. Every vote
submitted will be included in a draw for $1000 in Book Tokens – so much book
money to spend on your favourite books.
The New Zealand Post Book Awards
celebrate excellence, identifying the very best books written by New
Zealanders. There are sixteen finalists, in four categories, plus a further
four finalists in the Booksellers’ Choice category. The People’s Choice
Award-winner wins $5,000, and the winner is announced along with the winners of
the other awards at a ceremony on Wednesday 27 August at Te Papa Tongarewa,
Wellington. Last year’s winner was Patched by Jarrod Gilbert – who will
win this year?
