The Society of Authors has issued an open letter, addressed to
members of the Publishers Association and Independent Publishers
Guild, asking publishers to address the issue of author earnings which it
says are "falling fast".
The Costa Book Awards Management committee has revealed it
allowed the winner of its first novel category to be entered for the 2015
awards after “careful consideration”, despite the title being technically
ineligible for the prize because of the date it was published.
