Wellington book publisher Graham Stewart reports in from the shaky capital

Where should a Wellington publisher be when a 6.2 magnitude earthquake hits the Capital…

I was in Whitcoulls, Lambton Quay,  at 2.31pm when it struck… browsing the front of shop displays that immediately tumbled all around me onto the shop floor!

… including copies of our recently published The Shaky Isles – New Zealand Earthquakes by Anna Rogers. Two young shop assistants froze, hugging one of the round pillars as the building rocked…


Fortunately I had had a few wines with lunch which helped to ease the tension…  but confession… like everyone else… it was a frightening experience…
