After 25 Years, 'Momo' Returns to Print
Originally published in Germany in 1973 (predating author Michael Ende's best-known work,The Neverending Story, by six years), Momo was available in the U.S. for a brief time in the mid-1980s, with a translation by J. Maxwell Brownjohn. This week, Momo is back in print in this country, thanks to the efforts of translator Lucas Zimmer, for whom the German edition was a childhood favorite.
Click through to learn how what started as a labor of love when Zimmer was 18 turned into a published translation of a classic.
