RSL Ondaatje Prize shortlist includes The Shepherd's Life, Weatherland – and poetry

Poetry figures for the first time in seven years on the short list for the £10,000 Ondaatje Prize, released by the Royal Society of Literature today.
The award is for "a distinguished work of fiction, non-fiction or poetry evoking the spirit of a place", but poetry has been short-listed only twice since its inception in 2004.
