Save TVNZ 7 Petition will finish tomorrow (Tuesday).

The Save TVNZ 7 Petition will finish tomorrow (Tuesday).

We are counting and verifying all the signatures on Wednesday in preparation to present them to Parliament on Thursday so tomorrow is the last day that people can sign it. Obviously you've already signed it which is why you're receiving this email, but please please please forward this email to everyone you know to sign the petition at www.savetvnz7.co.nz.

It's currently sitting at 32,851 which is absolutely fantastic but bigger is better (in this case anyway).
Please come to the Save TVNZ 7 marches

We're super busy here at Save TVNZ 7. What with Mai Chen's findings due in soon, several meetings being held around Auckland and two marches to organise - it's frantic. And we're nervous as... (you fill in the blank) that we're going to get a good crowd so if you're in the Wellington Region on Thursday, please come to the march at noon from Civic Square. The weather forecast is looking good and there are groups coming from Wairarapa and Palmerston North too, which is wonderful.

After the Wellington march at 6.30pm, there is a public meeting at St John’s Hall on the corner of Willis St and Dixon St in Wellington where we'll be setting up a broader ‘Friends of Public Broadcasting’ organisation. All are welcome to attend.
The Auckland march on Saturday is shaping up to be a big one too.
We start from Queen Elizabeth Square (Britomart) at 4.30pm and walk up Queen Street, Victoria Street West, past TVNZ to St Matthew-in-the-City for speeches. We know the media will be out in force to get shots of us filing past the TVNZ building so please come along and show your support for Public Service Television and to be amongst friends as we mark the end of one of NZ's best TV channels.

Update

It's been a good week for us but if you've missed anything, here's a selection of recent news stories about the issue:

TVNZ 7 Backers Enlist Chen
That news spreads to TV3 but only the website sadly
Great response from the public meeting in Masterton
A hilarious blog by one of our members in CHCH
The meeting in Palmy made the local paper with a point not made anywhere else
Good response to the Dunedin meeting in the local press
Pete George spoke at the Dunedin meeting and filed this report
And this was something completely unexpected!
Save TVNZ 7 was the centre of an award winning art work in Berlin by New Zealand artist Simon Denny. Below are some images from the instalation art work which told the story of TVNZ 7 from inception to deception to dissolution.

Thanks again for all your efforts: donations, for coming to the meetings, writing to your MP and everything else. We've got 5 days left so let's make it count and remember to send out that last reminder to everyone - sign the petition.

Na matou, noa na
