Atlantic lines up title from Hitchens

Atlantic Books will be releasing a new book by Christopher Hitchens next year, following the journalist's death from cancer yesterday (15th December).

The title will be a memoir called Mortality, collecting his essays on death which were first published in Vanity Fair, the magazine for which he was a contributing editor. It will be published in early 2012.
His other works include his autobiography Hitch-22, published last year, and God is Not Great: How Religion Poisons Everything.

Hitchens was born in 1949, attended Oxford, and wrote for publications including the New Statesman and weekly US magazine the Nation. He was an outspoken supporter of the Iraq war, as well as a vocal atheist.
