The Bethunes at Webb's September sale centres on the collection of William Vance of Timaru, featuring an impressive assortment of New Zealand books and ephemera. Highlights of the sale include Savage's Some Account of New Zealand (1807), Kendall & Lee's Grammar and Vocabulary of the Language of New Zealand (1820), Buller's History of the Birds of New Zealand (1888), and a New Zealand Wars diary kept by William Henry Churton.
The sale will be held on Wednesday 8 September 2010, commencing at 10am. It will be on view Sunday 5 September from 11am to 3pm, and Monday 6 and Tuesday 7 September from 9am to 5:30pm.
Viewing at other times is strictly by appointment.
