Think Before You Swallow
The Art of Staying Healthy in a Health-Obsessed World
Noel O'Hare Penguin Books $29.95

Reviewed by guest reviewer Rob Southam.

This book is a veritable feast of Noel O'Hare's pragmatic philosophy of how to stay well, healthy and stress free - whilst being bombarded with a whole lot of differing facts and opinions about health on what seems like a daily basis.

Noel's thoughts make entertaining and thought provoking reading as he aims to help us make better decisions about our own health care.
Noel has been a health writer and well known columnist for over 20 years and has retained a healthy scepticism about claims for all sorts of health treatments - both conventional and alternative.

There's more here than just health matters - the chapters range over a wide variety of topics with headings such as "Choose To Be Happy", "Read For Your Life", and "Learn the Difference Between a Pill and an iPod".
It may be irreverent at times and it is definitely entertaining - but beneath all that there are some serious messages, backed up by loads of claims and research. A terrific read!
