THE TIMES THEY ARE A CHANGIN' !!

This press release from Lovereading:

Lovereading Launch New Teen Genre And Facebook Application

Lovereading.co.uk, the unique website which helps readers choose their next book, announces the launch of 'new gen' a genre of books aimed at Young Adults and Teenagers and a Facebook application for the fast growing social network.

Research among Lovereading.co.uk readers has thrown up an interesting social dynamic. Teenagers and Young Adults - who are unable to purchase books online for themselves and who, importantly, still need adult motivation to read more than they do – fall between two stools.

They feel too old to search for books on our 'Kids' site (or in children's sections of bookstores) yet there is a whole genre of books which they would be prepared to read – if only they could find them.
To address this Lovereading has created a new a special genre called 'new gen' aimed specifically at Young adult and Teen readers.

Louise Weir, Co-Founder and Director of Lovereading said:
Many of these new books and authors are unknown to their parents, many of whom themselves have nightmare memories of being force-fed Dickens and Tolstoy when they were teenagers themselves!"

This innovative new genre can be found at www.lovereading.co.uk/newgen and includes novels by authors as diverse as Melvin Burgess, Kevin Brooks and Julie Burchill. Also brand new authors such as Jenny Downham and the award-winning Jenny Valentine".
Teenage readers can use the Wish List tool on Lovereading to very easily deliver a list of titles to the holder of the credit card – i.e. the parent or other adult contact – thus making Birthdays and Christmases easier for all!

Also in October Lovereading will be launching a Facebook application that will allow the 30+ Million users of Facebook to tell their friends about their favourite books and authors and link to Lovereading to share book extracts.

Peter Crawshaw Co-Founder and Director of Lovereading said:
"Social networks are growing incredibly rapidly and people are always looking for new tools and applications to personalise their own profiles. Our simple application allows Facebook users to share their favourite books and authors with their friends and link back to our website to share free book extracts.

We also think the new Facebook application will help teens spread the word about our new gen book category that has been created specifically for teenage and young adult readers."
Facebook users can find the application just by typing Lovereading into the site search box and clicking on the application that is shown.
