GOOSE
by Dawn O'Porter
The first book in the series, Paper Aeroplanes, saw friendship blossom between polar opposites, Renee and Flo in the midst of a no-nonsense look at growing up. O'Porter's characteristically witty and straightforward style remains in Goose. Issues of alcohol, sex and bereavement are covered with just the right balance of sense of humour and sensitivity. These books fill a gap in the current older teen market and it's wonderful to have contemporary teen fiction that represents the real life experience of many teenage girls.
