Egmont has today (1st April) launched its first Mr Men storybook app, based on the Mr Tickle story and narrated by David Walliams.
The app, which Egmont produced in-house, includes the unabridged text of the original book, as well as 60 different sounds and 70 animations that allow children to interact with the story. Games include Mr Men Funny Faces, where users mix and match clothes from the different Mr Men characters, and Whack-a-Worm, where the aim is to catch a worm as he pops in and out of a worm-hole.
Walliams said the series is “iconic”, adding: “The Mr Men series is practically a British institution with pride of place on children’s bookshelves up and down the country, so it’s been great fun to provide the new voice of Mr Tickle for the app.”
The app is exclusive to the iPad and is available from the Apple store for £2.49.
Although Mr Tickle is the first app, Egmont has also published six e-books of stories from the Mr Men and Little Miss series: Mr Tickle, Mr Greedy, Mr Happy, Mr Nosey, Mr Sneeze, Mr Bump, Little Miss Princess, Little Miss Naughty, Little Miss Sunshine, Little Miss Giggles, Little Miss Chatterbox and Little Miss Birthday.
The e-books are all priced at £1.99.
