Long time book trade figure John Seymour died on January 8, after suffering a suspected heart attack while on a 4WD drive club outing in Mangakino.
John spent his whole working life in the book trade, beginning with Bennetts in Palmerston North in the sixties. He was later a principal of ANZ Books and publisher at Government Printing before that was closed down. Most recently he has been a rep for Nationwide Book Distributors.
Friend Graham Beattie described John as “A lovely man with a great sense of humour.”
John’s funeral will be held tomorrow, Friday January 13, at Cornwall Manor, corner of Knights Road and Cornwall Street, Lower Hutt at 10.30am followed by interment at Akatarawa Cemetery.
