According to the anonymous job site Glassdoor.com, the average salary for a bookstore manager across the United States is $72,682 a year.

Barnes & Noble managers also earn cash and stock bonuses, which amount to an average of $9,833 a year. (This amount is reflected in their average annual salary).
At Books-A-Million, a general manager makes an average of $36,562 a year. This figure is based on 13 respondents who make between $30-51,000 a year. Books-A-Million managers also earn an average of $2,114 a year in cash bonuses, which is included in this average.
At Amazon.com, a manager makes an average of $115,200 a year. This figure is based on 14 respondents, who make between $50-135,000 a year. Amazon.com managers also earn an average of $32,317 a year in cash and stock bonuses, which bumps up their average annual salary.
