Publisher makes generous donation on every e-book sold

Steam Press is very pleased to announce that from today (1 July) were will be donating $3 from every paperback sale and $1 from every ebook sale at the Steam Press shop to the children's literacy charity Duffy Books in Homes (http://www.booksinhomes.org.nz/Home.aspx).

Duffy Books in Homes provides free books to over 100,000 New Zealand children three times a year, and we are looking forward to helping them. To quote the Books in Homes website, the philosophy behind the programme is simple – to break the cycle of 'booklessness'. Kids who can't read become adults who can't communicate and that's a serious disadvantage in a world that operates on the written word.

We know that times are tough in the publishing industry but they're even tougher for a lot of children growing up in New Zealand today, we so challenge other publishers to do the same.

Steam Press can be found online at http://www.steampress.co.nz.
