Once complete, the public will be able to walk through this hypnotic maze of books. Inside, a number of surprises await! Small screens will be installed throughout the labyrinth which will show art images and literary quotes. In addition, various authors will be reading their books inside the maze, "adding life to the project via oral tradition."
The artists hope visitors will be able to discover new textures, images and emotions while being immersed inside the world of books. At the end of the exhibition, the public is encouraged to take any of these new and used books home with them.
The final installation will be on view at Southbank Centre London from July 31 to August 26. Previously, aMAZEme has been produced in RIo de Janeiro, but on a much smaller scale. See photos of it, below. (Doesn't this remind you of the library desk made from recycled books?)
